Reduction or total ceasing of pumping discharge with non-Newtonian fluids.

The purpose of this paper is to suggest a useful way to deal with sludge, the disposal fluid from water treatment plants. When there is a need to reduce or stop the pumping process, problems arise because these fluids do not retain their former rheological properties. Since these non-Newtonian fluids are yield-pseudoplastic and thixotropic, some devices and alternatives are suggested to achieve a smooth transition.Downloads
