Pluriactividad y sucesión de la agricultura familiar en el sur de Brasil
Keywords:

This article examines the issue of farmer families"Ÿ pluriactivity in Southern Brazil. In order to establish the impact of pluriactive farming, we will compare families who live exclusively from agricultural activities with those families who combine agricultural activities with non-agricultural activities (pluriactivity). The main findings are: first, pluriactivity does not alter the traditional mechanisms of succession and inheritance and; second, pluriactivity is not bound to poor farmer families. Third, the farmer families with greater economic difficulties are those with the lowest rents. This does not depend of their level of pluractivity.Downloads
