Abstract

When available water resources are insufficient to obtain the maximum crop production, policy under irrigation planning is to reduce crop surface in proportion with the water available and maintain the same water depths. In this paper an alternate irrigation water policy to determine the water depths to be allocated in case of drought is given. This policy provides the maximum profitability from the crop surface per water volume assigned.
