Abstract

Sotelo and Escalante (2001a) showed a generalization of curvilinear flow equations to be used in channels of any cross section shape. They later evaluated and included the flow resistance term in the general equations. The same authors evaluated the dependent terms and establish the particular equations for trapezoidal, rectangular and triangular channels (2001b). Many other authors have theoretically and experimentally analyzed, the pressure distribution at the bottom and along the flow on concave vertical curves in rectangular channels. This paper shows a comparison of the experimental results with the values obtained with the curvilinear flowmodel previously published.
